New Delhi: Adani Green Energy announced the operationalization of a 180-MW solar power plant situated at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The newly commissioned 180-MW solar plant, secured with a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), is projected to generate approximately 540 million units of electricity annually. This output is anticipated to power over 1.1 lakh homes and curtail around 0.39 million tons of CO2 emissions, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability efforts.

With this latest addition, AGEL's operational solar portfolio has surged to 6,243 MW. Notably, the Gautam Adani-owned firm is the largest renewable energy generator in India. Its total operational renewable generation capacity now stands at 9,784 MW, as per the statement released by the company.

The plant incorporates next-generation bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar trackers (HSAT) to optimize generation efficiency by tracking the sun's movement throughout the day, said the company. Moreover, waterless robotic module cleaning systems have been deployed, facilitating water conservation in the arid region of Jaisalmer.
