Amul becomes lead arm sponsor for USA, South Africa cricket teams in T20 World Cup

New Delhi: Dairy giant Amul has been named the lead arm sponsor for the USA and South Africa cricket teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

This announcement comes ahead of the highly anticipated tournament, set to kick off on June 1, with the USA making its tournament debut as one of the co-hosts. Notably, a portion of the tournament, including the semifinals and finals, will be held in the Caribbean.

The branding of the dairy company will be featured on the leading sleeve of South Africa’s World Cup playing kit. Amul's partnership with the USA national cricket team was unveiled during a ceremony in New York. The tournament opener is scheduled between the USA and Canada on June 1, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.

Meanwhile, South Africa will commence their T20 World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 3. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul, said that the goodness of Amul Milk will fuel both teams' "pursuit of success on the global stage."

Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with esteemed brands like Amul. It is worth noting that Amul has extended its global presence to the USA, where Amul milk is now available for purchase, catering to the Indian diaspora and Asian population. The dairy maker is poised to further expand its footprint in the US market, with plans to launch additional dairy products like paneer, curd, and buttermilk.

The brand has previously been associated with the cricket teams of the Netherlands, South Africa, and others.
