Guwahati: Just days after Diwali when many in western India usually take a holiday, Indian Railways will start the Bharat Gaurav train tour of north-eastern states starting from November 16.

The premium tourist train starts from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station and will travel through northeastern states, now that most states in the region are rail-connected.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC’s) special tour offering to India’s north east covering Assam, Arunanchal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya.

The much sought-after train tour “North East Discovery” is ready to depart on November 16, 2023 from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on a 14 nights/15 days itinerary.

State of the art Deluxe AC Tourist Train with AC I, AC II & AC III classes will accommodate 204 tourists.

The places covered are Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti, Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura, Dimapur andKohima in Nagaland and Shillong and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya.

Tourists can also board/deboard at Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Kanpur and Lucknow Railway Station on this tourist train.

Business North East spoke to Chief Public Relation Officer of NF Railways who said that the ticket prices are all inclusive.  wherever there are railway stations the passenger can move to it. They are co-ordinating with the road transport where there are no railway stations like Cherapunjee and Shillong.
