C20 conference in Guwahati starts today

Guwahati: The Chinmaya Mission is going to hold the C20 conference on Friday at NEDFI House. The conference will consist of four different sessions on the topics of Art and Culture, Dharma, Education, and Industry and Commerce.

As part of the C20 Summit, the Centre has formed 14 working groups to address socio-economic matters that affect people worldwide. Chinmaya Mission has been chosen by the Centre to anchor the deliberations for the working group named ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - World is One Family’.

The event will have several notable speakers, including Bimal Borah, Minister of Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprise and Cultural Affairs, who will be the chief guest. The inaugural keynote speech will be delivered by Rami Niranjan Desai, an anthropologist and theologian with expertise on the Northeast region of India. Swami Mitrananda, a spiritual mentor, will lead the conference.

Other speakers at the event include Arch Bishop Emeritus, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Dr Emi Rumi, Kalyan Chakravarthy, Kuladhar Saikia, Manoshi Sinha, Dr Ashok Pansari, Shrihari Borikar, Rituparna Neog, and Ravi Kapoor.

The conference aims to bring together eminent individuals, intellectuals, officials, bureaucrats, teachers, professors, students, and members of civil society. During the event, a booklet will be released on the theme of the conference, which will contain quotes from Assamese literature.
