New Delhi: The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has announced an extension for the submission deadline of proposals under the Research and Development (R&D) Scheme as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Initially set for March 16, the new deadline for proposal submissions is now extended to April 27. This decision comes in response to stakeholders' requests for more time to prepare and submit high-quality R&D proposals.

The R&D Scheme aims to enhance the affordability, efficiency, safety, and reliability of green hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization processes and technologies. With a total budgetary outlay of Rs. 400 crores until the financial year 2025-26, the scheme seeks to foster collaborations among industry, academia, and government to establish an innovation ecosystem for green hydrogen technologies.

The scheme supports various components of the green hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, compression, transportation, and utilization. Projects funded under the R&D Scheme are expected to be goal-oriented, time-bound, and scalable, with a focus on indigenous technology development by innovative MSMEs and startups.

The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in January with an outlay of Rs. 19,744 crores until the financial year 2029-30, aims to drive the adoption and commercialization of green hydrogen technologies. The Call for Proposals, issued on March 16, has received positive responses, but stakeholders have requested additional time for proposal submissions.
