CM Himanta Biswa Sarma unveils statue of Birangana Sati Sadhani, legendary warrior queen of Chutia Dynasty

Guwahati: On April 21st, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled a 31 feet tall statue of Birangana Sati Sadhani, the legendary warrior queen of Chutia Dynasty, on the occasion of her death anniversary in Sarupathar, Assam. The event was attended by several other ministers including Bimal Borah, Atul Bora, Keshav Mahanta, and Ajanta Neog.

During the event, the Chief Minister praised the bravery and sacrifice of Birangana Sati Sadhani, and expressed the government's commitment to celebrating the lives of Assam's greatest heroes. He also highlighted the government's efforts to address the issues faced by the Chutia community in Assam, including the allocation of 125 crores for their development, with 50 crores already released. Additionally, efforts are being made to provide reservations for Chutia community students in universities and institutions.

Birangana Sati Sadhani was born in Sadiya and was the daughter of King Dharmadhwajpal, also known as Dhirnarayan. She is known for her valour and devotion, and has been an inspiration for generations. The unveiling of her grand statue is a tribute to her legacy and contribution to the history of Assam. Minister Bimal Borah expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for taking this initiative to honour the great warrior of the Chutia Dynasty.
