Defence Ministry inks over Rs 9,100 crore contracts for Indian Army

New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence has recently signed contracts worth over Rs 9,100 crore for the Indian Army’s procurement of improved Akash Weapon System and 12 Weapon Locating Radars, WLR Swathi (Plains).

The announcement was made via a tweet from the Office of Raksha Mantri on March 30, 2023.

In response to the tweet, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction and said that the move would not only boost self-reliance but would also benefit the MSME sector. The deal is expected to provide a significant boost to India’s defence capabilities and promote indigenous manufacturing.

In reply to the tweet by RMO India, the Prime Minister said;

“A welcome development, which will boost self-reliance and particularly help the MSME sector.
