Forbes unveils world's billionaires list 2024

New Delhi: Forbes has released its highly anticipated annual list of the world's billionaires for 2024. This year's list boasts a staggering 2,781 billionaires globally, showing an increase of 141 billionaires compared to the previous year.

The collective wealth of these billionaires has soared to an approximate value of Rs 1,05,35,000 crore, marking a rise of Rs. 13,40,000 crore from the figures reported in 2023. Furthermore, the list welcomed 26 new billionaires, whose combined net worth surged by an impressive Rs. 75,85,000 crore.

The top 20 billionaires on the list have witnessed remarkable growth in their wealth, adding an astonishing Rs. 52,90,000 crore to their combined net worth since last year. The United States leads the list with a record 813 billionaires, followed closely by China with 473 billionaires and India with 200 billionaires

Bernard Arnault and his family have secured the coveted top spot with a net worth of Rs 17,38,000 crore, followed by Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos with Rs. 14,46,000 crore each. Mark Zuckerberg rounds off the top four with a personal wealth of Rs 13,15,000 crore. 

Among the notable names on the list are media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his family, Dallas Cowboys General Manager Jerry Jones, and celebrities like Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift, whose net worths range from Rs 82,30,000 crore to Rs 18,50,000 crore.

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers has emerged as the wealthiest woman on the list with a net worth of Rs 7,51,000 crore, followed by Alice Walton, Julia Koch and her children, Jacqueline Mars, and MacKenzie Scott, with net worths ranging from Rs 2,66,000 crore to Rs. 5,48,000 crore.
