Most awarded network of Northeast telecom circle declared

Guwahati: Open Signal, a global standard for network and subscriber insights, has declared Bharti Airtel as "the most awarded 5G network in the Northeast telecom circle. Airtel has won 5 out of 6 awards for best 5G video, live video, games, voice apps, and upload speed. 

The company, issuing a release, claimed that it also leads in voice app experience, "providing seamless connectivity for multiplayer games and OTT voice services." Airtel was the first service provider to launch 5G in the Northeast telecom circle and currently has 2.5 million unique customers.

"Overall, Airtel remains the outright winner of the best 5G upload speed award across the country, with the winning score of 25.1 megabytes per second", the company said. Meanwhile, Airtel 5G plus service is now available across districts of Assam and is on track to cover the entire country by March 2024, it said. 

Across India, Airtel had 377.54 million subscribers on December 31, 2023, as per government figures. It is superseded only by Reliance Jio with 424.51 million users.
