Hojai in Assam gets new projects worth Rs 395 crore

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a series of transformative projects amounting to Rs 395 crore in the Hojai District on Saturday. The projects have been unveiled as part of the Indian government's ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India) initiative.

Notable among the inaugurated initiatives are 36 piped water schemes, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 59 crore, along with the dedication of a Rs 14 crore 100-bed hospital.

Additionally, the CM fulfilled a longstanding demand with the inauguration of a railway overbridge in Hojai. Furthermore, he laid the foundation stones for the expansion of the Kathiatoli-Kampur-Jamunamukh-Doboka road to four lanes, alongside the development of 105 roads in Hojai District.

The CM highlighted the significance of the 'Vikas Yatra' initiated by the government on February 29 to expedite the pace of development in the region. 

"The foundation stones laid for various projects, amounting to a staggering Rs 23,000 crore across the state, signify a concerted effort towards holistic development", Biswa Sarma said. He reiterated the state government’s investment of Rs 12 lakh crore in development endeavors over the preceding two years, underscoring the administration’s "unwavering dedication to propelling Assam towards prosperity and progress."
