IT-BPM sector to create more than 3 lakh jobs this fiscal year

The Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Management will create more than 3 lakh jobs this fiscal year with rapid adoption of emerging technologies.

The report is based on a survey that interviewed more than 100 employers and gathered insights from engineering colleges across 500 cities which include major cities in the North Eastern states also.

The survey report by the staffing company Team lease said that the IT-BPM workforce is on the path to grow 7 per cent in the financial year 2023, with the overall headcount increasing from 5.1 million to 5.45 million.

With more companies focusing on the rapid adoption of emerging technologies, demand for tech talent is going to see a strong surge in the coming quarters, especially in IT-BPM, the report pointed out. The 'Digital Employment Outlook Report for H1-2023' highlighted that the demand for digital skills will grow 8.4 per cent by the end of this fiscal year.

Further, the report showed that demand for contractual staffing will also increase mainly fueled by increased investments in the sector and rapid adoption of technology by enterprises.
