Arunachal Pradesh: Khelo India Multipurpose Hall Worth Rs. 8 Crore Inaugurated

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the Khelo India Multipurpose Hall in the Kamle district of Arunachal Pradesh today.

The state-of-the-art facility has been built for Rs. 8 crore under the Khelo India initiative. Arunachal Pradesh Ministers Kento Jini and Nyato Dukam, Raga MLA Rotom Tebin, senior officials from the Sports Authority of India, state government delegates and local luminaries attended the event.

The Central Government-funded multipurpose indoor hall has modern facilities to support various indoor sports disciplines such as boxing, badminton, judo, wushu, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, table tennis, and volleyball. It endorses grassroots-level sports development and provides professional training opportunities to young athletes from the region.

While speaking at the event, Mandaviya emphasised the Government of India’s focus on all-encompassing sports infrastructure across isolated areas. “This initiative replicates our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of nurturing talent from every corner of the country. Arunachal Pradesh holds immense sporting potential, and through facilities like these, we aim to empower youth and strengthen nation-building through sports,” he stated.

The minister also advised local sportspeople and youth to make full use of the new facility. He highlighted the importance of fitness, discipline, and sporting spirit in daily life, particularly among the younger generation.
