MoA signed between SITA & IITG for preparing Atlas of heritage sites of Assam

Guwahati: A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) and Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) for preparing a annotated Atlas of the heritage sites of Assam.

The project entitled “Annotated Atlas of the Heritage sites of Assam: Using GIS” was signed by CEO M.S Manivannan, IAS on behalf of SITA and Head of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sukanya Sharma on behalf of IIT, Guwahati.

The project will be implemented by IIT, Guwahati incorporating with Heritage Conservation of Assam.

The implementing agency namely IIT, Guwahati along with its partner Heritage Conservation Society of Assam will be working through the project to prepare an annotated Atlas of the heritage sites of Assam to make visual presentation of the cultural profile of Assam and digitized maps will be produced which will be interactive and by using QR codes this data can be uploaded in the public domain.
