Guwahati: Oxyzone Landscapes, spearheaded by visionary Ranjana Bhajanka, is reshaping concrete landscapes into sustainable havens in Guwahati, Assam. The brand, which wants to redefine outdoor design and usher in an era of eco-conscious living, is now calling for business partners and entrepreneurs to take up landscape designing as a profession to bridge the gap in the market for beautifying urban spaces.
"We aim not only to create visually appealing landscapes but also to mentor the next generation of landscape designers in Northeast India, "Bhajanka explained.
As people prioritize enhancing both indoor and outdoor spaces, this collaboration offers partners a chance to contribute to a healthier, more aesthetically pleasing environment.
“For aspiring individuals considering landscaping as a career path, can start with an initial investment ranging from Rs 1-2 lakhs, as Bhajanka explains, this investment would provide them with the bandwidth to kickstart their first 2-3 projects successfully.”
It encompasses building a small yet efficient team, establishing connections with vendors for essential products, and collaborating with architects and engineers to bring their visions to life. While the initial investment may seem daunting, rest assured that the Return on Investment (ROI) or breakeven point typically occurs within a year, she adds.
Preference will be given to engineers, designers, or those from the departments of horticulture or agriculture, Bhajanka further mentioned.
"I urge everyone to explore partnership opportunities with Oxyzone and be a part of the green revolution in North East India," Bhajanka told Business North East.
Established in 2014, Oxyzone Landscape Designing Studio specializes in planning, designing, execution, and maintenance. "With expertise in residential, institutional, retail, and hospitality projects, Oxyzone transforms visions into reality," Bhajanka said.
A decade ago, landscaping as a concept in Guwahati was often confused with mere gardening and plantations. However, Bhajanka recognized the potential to blend creativity with environmental stewardship. Armed with a passion for landscaping and a background in horticulture, organic farming, and greenhouse cultivation, she embarked on a journey to revolutionize outdoor spaces.
Over 10 years, Oxyzone has completed over 200 projects.
"At first, it was challenging," admits Bhajanka, reflecting on the early days of Oxyzone. "But we persevered, educating the community about the transformative power of landscaping." Her approach was holistic, starting with a boutique offering a curated selection of exterior products, from statues and fountains to wall tiles, to inspire and educate potential clients.
"Initially, I started with a boutique with an array of products displayed within Rs 20 lakh. But what I have learned throughout the years is that heavy investments in products are not a requisite. Concept consultation, product charges, and self-training are all you need to invest in," Bhajanka told Business North East.
Over time, Oxyzone evolved into a full-fledged landscaping consultancy, offering tailored solutions for every budget and space. "We conceptualize according to the client's needs, considering factors like space, budget, and environmental impact," explains Bhajanka. From small balconies to sprawling terraces, each project is meticulously crafted to enhance aesthetics while promoting sustainability.
"Oxyzone offers a diverse range of services, from conceptual landscape design to site environment analysis, hardscape, softscape plantation, and more," shares Bhajanka. "With ten years of expertise in this sector now, I have envisioned it to transform open spaces into works of art while promoting sustainable and aesthetically pleasing landscapes," she told BNE.
Central to Oxyzone's ethos is the use of sustainable materials. "We believe in creating beauty without compromising the planet," Bhajanka asserts. This commitment to sustainability has resonated not only in Guwahati but across the Northeast region, with projects in Tura, Dimapur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Manipur.
But Oxyzone's impact extends beyond design; it's about nurturing and preserving these green spaces for generations to come. "Maintenance is key," emphasizes Bhajanka. "We not only create landscapes but also ensure their longevity through ongoing care and support."
Looking ahead, Oxyzone shows no signs of slowing down with landmark projects like the recent landscaping for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kaziranga, where a 20-member team has worked day and night, Bhajanka says.
"Last year, we crossed Rs 2.5 crore in revenue. This year, we will be closing at more than Rs 3 crore," she said. With inquiries flooding in from across the country, we now have our studio in Ahmedabad, further expanding our services, catering to clients beyond North East India," Ranjana adds.
Oxyzone already offers hands-on experience in real-world projects through its internship program at Dimapur horticultural college. "We're nurturing the next generation of green innovators," Ranjana asserts.
"Our vision is simple—to create a greener, cleaner tomorrow," mentions Ranjana.
"And with the support of our community and the government, we are making it a reality," she added.
As Oxyzone continues to flourish, Ranjana is keen to share her expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs through a groundbreaking partnership program. Aside from creating aesthetic landscapes, Oxyzone's objective is also to mentor the next generation of landscape designers.
"As part of our mission, we'd like to invite individuals to join us in spreading the green revolution," she announces.
"Anyone can start a rewarding career in landscaping with training and support from our experts. Architects, real estate enthusiasts, designers, and engineers are preferred, as well as people with a passion for horticulture," Ranjana shares.
