A tea garden worker from West Tripura interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Agartala: Arjun Singh, a tea garden worker from Tripura, was left starstruck on Wednesday when he got an opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself!

Singh, a beneficiary of the 'PM Awas' and 'Ujjwala' schemes, informed the PM that his life had been transformed as he was able to shift to a concrete house after availing of the Rs 1.3 lakh rupees assistance provided by the government. Through the help of a government scheme, cooking at Singh's new home is being done on a gas stove instead of the traditional 'chulha', he said.

The West Tripura man informed the Prime Minister that enthusiasm for the Prime Minister's schemes in his village and nearby areas is quite high.

Apart from Singh, Prime Minister Modi interacted with several other beneficiaries of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' via video conferencing today. They all shared how their lives have been impacted positively by the central government's schemes.

The Prime Minister also addressed the gathering on the occasion and expressed satisfaction that beneficiaries are getting the benefits of the government schemes without much hassle, said a government release.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a government initiative being undertaken across India as the country gears up to cast votes in the national elections next year.

The motive is to raise awareness about and track the implementation of flagship central schemes, such as Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima, and PM SVANidhi, among others.
