India generated revenue to the tune of Rs. 500 crores from the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) informed that more than 30 crore national flags had been sold as Indians join the Prime Minister's call for hoisting the tricolor in private homes, offices, and institutions.

As per CAIT, over 3000 Tiranga events were organized nationwide over the course of the past 15 days with the participation of numerous businessmen and people from all walks of life. Over 30 crore tricolors were produced by business houses in a record 20 days in order to meet the astronomical demand of the people.

National President of CAIT, B.C. Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal further informed that the move demonstrated the capacity and capabilities of Indian businesspeople to produce as per demand.

The traders accredited the high sales also to the modification of the Flag Code by the Union Government and permitting the manufacture of flags from polyester and machines, thus easing production. Traditionally, only Khadi or cotton could be used to create the Indian tricolor. The reform led to the employment of more than 10 lakh individuals.

CIAT stated that the annual selling of the Indian tricolor during Independence Day celebrations was previously limited to about USD 150–200 million. This year, the sales reached a whooping Rs. 500 crores.

To celebrate 75 years of the country's independence and to adhere to the high demands, flags were also produced in a very organised manner by the SME manufacturing and trading sector, as well as by the self-help groups.
