Sikkim Government Prioritizes Employee Benefits and Infrastructure Development

Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, in a series of significant announcements, has underscored his commitment to improving the welfare of the state's residents and government employees.

One of the major highlights of these announcements is the substantial increase in Dearness Allowance (DA), which has been raised from 38% to 42%. This increase, set to come into effect from January 2023, is expected to provide much-needed relief to government employees by offering higher compensation to cope with the ever-rising living costs.

In a move aimed at ensuring financial security and retirement benefits for government employees, CM Tamang has also declared the reinstatement of the old pension scheme in the state.

Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans to regularize the "One Family One Job" program, which is set to provide government employment opportunities to one member from each family in Sikkim. This initiative is poised to contribute significantly to addressing unemployment concerns and boosting economic prospects for the state's residents.

Infrastructure development remains a priority for the Sikkim government, as CM Tamang committed to the enhancement of Debrung Road. The project will focus on road improvements and the installation of effective drainage systems, ultimately bolstering connectivity and urban amenities in the region.

Furthermore, recognizing the healthcare needs of C&D grade employees, CM Tamang announced a financial aid package for them. Under this initiative, these employees will be eligible to receive a substantial advance of Rs 5 lakh, providing crucial support for their medical expenses and promoting their overall well-being.

These proactive measures announced by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang signify a concerted effort by the Sikkim government to uplift its citizens and ensure a better quality of life for all.
