The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Mizoram, and covered the entire states of Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, along with some areas of Assam and Meghalaya, as of today, May 26.
According to the latest meteorological update, the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) now extends through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Pune, Sholapur, Kalaburagi, Mahbubnagar, Kavali, 16.5°N/83°E, 19°N/86°E, 21°N/89°E, Agartala, Goalpara, and 28.5°N/89°E.
Weather experts have indicated that conditions remain favourable for the further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into the remaining parts of the northeastern region and into some areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim within the next three days.
