Tea Auction records highest bid on International Tea Day

Guwahati: On the International tea Day First Special Auction on Monday led to the sale of Assam’s most premium teas set out by the Tea Board of India.
This special auction recorded high at Rs 4,000 per kg at the Jorhat tea e-marketplace, organized by India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, mjunction services limited. The Pabhojan Orthodox tea was sold at Rs 4,000 per kg, followed by Diroibam Speciality Green tea sold at Rs 1,000 per kg and the famous Hookhmol CTC tea fetched Rs 510 per kg.
More than 93% of the total teas on offer got sold. The buyers came all over from Assam, West Bengal, Delhi, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
Hookhmol CTC purchased by Kamal Sharma and Pradeep Sharma, directors of Tea World from the platform at Rs 510 per kg, the teas sold on the mjunction platform were the freshest. Green tea purchased by Nazrana Ahmed of Diroibam Tea Estate fetched Rs 1,000 per kg.
The special auction conducted had a unique significance to the tea sector as it received the highest bid for the Specialty Green Teas and its happy with the professional approach of the mjunction team and the trust imposed by the buyers.
Nilesh Divekar of Shangrila Enterprise appreciated the mjunction team, who purchased Pabhojan Orthodox at Rs 4,000 per kg.
Many challenges came in the way of Assam Tea Estates, the only private sector enterprises, yet it survived and succeeded.

Bhaskar Hazarika, director of Real Assam Tea Industries supplier of Hookhmol CTC congratulated the mjunction on successfully conducting the special tea auction to celebrate International Tea Day.
