4 more Assam-based startups secure grants, equity investment

Guwahati: Four more ventures incubated under 'Assam Startup - The Nest' have recently secured funding grants and equity investments in a big boost to the start-up ecosystem in the Northeast Indian region. A grant distribution ceremony was held during which the funds were officially allocated to the startups as they showed promise "for growth and expansion."

An official revealed the names of the start-ups that would benefit from these latest grants - RogNidaan Technologies Pvt Ltd, Innotech Agropostikam Private Limited, Sprengal Food Technologies Pvt Ltd, and Zerund Manufacturing Pvt Ltd.

While scale-up grants were handed over to RogNidaan Technologies Pvt Ltd (Rs 15,28,100), Innotech Agropostikam Pvt Ltd (Rs 63,000) and Sprengal Food Technologies Pvt Ltd (Rs 27,08,500), Zerund Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has raised an equity funding of Rs 10 crore from Assam Start-up Venture Capital Fund with SIDBI on March 15, 2024.

Assam Start-up Venture Capital Fund, a scheme initiated by Assam Laghu Vikas Trust registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in August 2022 as a Category I AIF - Venture Capital Fund. It aims to provide crucial financial support to promising startups in the region.

"The funds represent an acknowledgment of their ability to create a good effect and contribute to Assam's socioeconomic progress", Assam Startup said in a statement. "The infusion of funds is expected to fuel the growth trajectory of these startups, enabling them to scale their operations, drive innovation, and create employment opportunities."
