Assam CM launched Ayushman Asom Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Ayushman Asom Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AA-MMJAY) on May 10 pm in the Shrimanta Shankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

The scheme is an extension of the vision of Ayushman Bharat commemorating 2 years of completion of leadership of the Chief Minister.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Sarma informed the benefits of the scheme to the attendees. He informed that following the principles of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodya Yojana the Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked relentlessly for the upliftment of the poor.

Based on the principle of Antyodaya the Government of Assam also worked for the upliftment of till the last mile citizen of the society. As per the report 2011 socio economic survey around 30 lakh citizens living below poverty level were benefitted by the State government. But in Assam, it was found that the state need to cover even more than 30 lakh beneficiaries under health coverage. This is to move towards a universal health coverage aim.

The scheme was inaugurated on the basis of NFSA data as permitted.

Speaking on the event Dr Keshav Mahanta said that in the forthcoming years they are planning to provide health security of Rs. 5 lakh to people who has ration card. As high as 84 percent of this NFSA card holders are covered under this scheme.

The main features of this health coverage scheme includes offering cashless medical treatment upto Rs.5 lakh per eligible family per year.

The beneficiaries who are listed under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and are not covered under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana shall be eligible for the scheme.

The mandatory documents required for the enrolment in this scheme are ration card and Adhaar card.
The beneficiaries will have access to as many as 1578 procedures in more than 300 empanelled hospitals in Assam and all AB-PMJAY empanelled hospitals across the country .

The scheme envisions to cover 26 lakh beneficiaries under its fold.

The e-kyc drive under AB-PMJAY and AA-MMJAY for NFSA beneficiaries is conducted by authorised frontline workers.
