Assam seeks to attract investments at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

At the 3-day summit, efforts are underway to attract investors from home and abroad to Assam

Guwahati: The Assam Industries Department is participating in the 'Vibrant Gujarat' summit that began in Ahmedabad on January 9 to promote industrial investments in the country.

According to an official release, a beautiful pavilion of Assam has been constructed at the venue to attract investors from India and overseas. Industries Minister Bimal Bora and several department top officials are participating in the event.

“The state government is working to make Assam one of the top five states in the country and to realize the dream of self-reliant Assam under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma. With our attractive industrial policy, we have invited various investors from home and abroad to invest in Assam", Bora said at the event.

The minister said the main objective of participating in Vibrant Gujarat is to create employment opportunities through investment, build the economic foundation of Assam, and realize the Prime Minister's vision of building a self-reliant India.

The delegation from Assam includes principal secretary Dr KK Dwivedi, commissioner of industries Ainaam Sharan Kumar Singh, managing director of Assam Industrial Development Corporation Manbendra Pratap Singh, and several other top officials of the state government.

The concept of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit was started in 2003 under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi when he was the CM of the state. This year, the 3-day event is witnessing the participation of 34 partner countries and delegates from over 130 countries.
