Assam startup raises Rs 1 crore for going pan-India.

If you are looking for getting appointment to hospitals in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, help is on the way.

A startup from Assam Quickobook (www.quickobook.com) has raised funds worth 1cr from Nedfi Venture Capital Limited( NVCL) for the expansion of its program to metro cities.

With NVCL funds, the company has launched surgery care assistance where every assistance for surgery counting from pick and drop to admission and discharge, claim benefits, and also in case of financial assistance up to 5lakhs can be availed within 48hours. Quickobook has launched the surgery care assistance for patients in Northeast and now moving to metro cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and many more.

As of now, people have to pay Rs 45 for an appointment which we are trying to waive off with time.

Currently Quickobook shares the largest network across the northeast with 5000 plus doctors and 6.5 patients lives touched and 200 plus hospitals empaneled with us.

" We are anticipating revenues of Rs 2 crore+ in FY 22-23" he said.

Co-founder of Quickobook Biswajit Paul said, “ We have expanded Quickobook to entire northeast, from booking doctor’s appointment, medicine delivery, booking lab test we have all the necessary services and now we have also surgery care in Guwahati and Silchar.”

"Earlier to get an appointment with doctor people had to travel a long distance and wait for long hours and most of the time the situation always remained ambiguous. With the introduction of Quickobook, things got easy and now people can login to the website/app and get it done by finger's click" Paul told BusinessNortheast.

From Quickobook, people can avail door step medicine delivery, lab appointments and online consultations too. Quickobook is a one stop solution for one's health care needs.

Paul's reason for starting Quickobook was that he himself could not get doctor's appointment a few years back. " I did MBA in Finance from Assam University and got a job in a company but due to some unavoidable reason i had to return back to my hometown and one fine morning, i went to the doctor's chamber and waited for almost three hours but couldn't fetch the appointment due to limited seats. "That pain let to the rise of Quickobook and decided to solve it to bring some ease for the patients" he said.

" We had done surveys to find out the need for such a service and the response was mixed but majority needed such a service" he said adding that the service was started in 2016.

" It was not easy to start and we had to wait for almost a year to get our first booking" he said.

Quickobook shares the largest network across the Northeast and empanneled with 5000 plus doctors and have touched more than 6.5 lacs patients’ lives.

"We have two processes- one is login to website or app and other is walk to the nearest Quickobook franchisee and say the name of the doctor and the franchise shall send a sms with a unique id of that particular doctor and then and there the appointment will be scheduled accordingly. The confirmation is sent by SMS/whatsapp and an email" he said.

The company is incubated at Asam Start Up Nest, is a winner at IIM Calcutta entrepreneurship competition 2018, Nasscom, and IIT Guwahati.

He said startups from Assam looking for funds should try to tap local investors initially but for this to happen, an ecosystem will have to be created.
