Guwahati: Forms for the Assam Chief Minister's Women Entrepreneurship Mission (Urban) will be distributed in each municipality on March 3, 4 and 5, officials said. The forms will be collected on March 9, 10 and 11.

Under this scheme, Rs 10,000 each will be provided to eligible members of self-help groups (SHGs) under the Assam State Urban Livelihood Mission as an industrialization fund in the first phase to assist women entrepreneurs in urban areas. They will receive financial assistance in three phases to carry on the business over 3 years. In the first year, the women will receive Rs 10,000 each and 12,500 in the second and third years. The second installment will be paid by a bank and the beneficiary will have to repay the amount.

Ashok Singhal, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, recently held a virtual meeting with representatives of all municipal bodies in the state including Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and officials of district administrations for the implementation of the urban scheme. Singhal briefed the concerned officials on the guidelines of the campaign and gave necessary instructions, officials informed.

The virtual meeting was attended by the mayor and commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation, mayors, executive officers, local MLAs, and several other officials.
