Brahmaputra Board partners with IIT Guwahati for the development of rivers like Brahmaputra

Guwahati: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and the Brahmaputra Board to collaborate regarding the development of the river and its utilization more efficiently for the people's benefit.

The collaboration is expected to help in evolving innovative technologies for better management of rivers, such as the Brahmaputra.
The partnership between them is an experimental and computational study along with promoting academic visits for students and officials for the mutual benefit of stakeholders, stated during a press release.

One of the professors from IITG stated that management of a complex river like the Brahmaputra would be possible only through a collaborative approach of academia and industry and informed that it's a fruitful collaboration in the areas of the hydrological model of study and research since the IITG is a premier Institute of technology with active faculty and research scholars.

The MoU between IITG and Brahmaputra Board was signed by IIT Guwahati professor TG Sitharam and Chairman of Brahmaputra Board Rajiv Yadav.
