New Delhi: A relief has been granted by the Finance Ministry in concern with the glitches found in the new portal of income tax online filling www.incometax.gov.in recently updated. It was informed that the taxpayers can upload their Income Tax filling forms 15CA/15CB in manual format to the authorized dealers till the extended date 30th June 2021.

Concerning the foreign remittances, it was advised to the authorized dealers to accept the forms till 30th June. Later on, a facility shall be provided on the new e-filling portal to upload the aforesaid forms at a notified date for generation of the Document Identification Number, adds Finance Ministry.

Following the Income Tax Act, 1961, a requirement stays to fill the forms 15CA/15CB electronically. Currently, the taxpayers are to just upload the Form 15CA, along with the Chartered Accountant Certificate in Form 15CB, in the notified area, before submitting the copy to the authorized dealer for any foreign remittances.

If any payment is made to the non-resident by an Indian resident, it needs to be declared in the form 15CA. Form 15CB is a certificate issued by the CA with the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA). A tax deduction has been allotted for such transactions.

This new e-filing portal of Income Tax was launched on 7th June to ease refunds and form filling, yet a week later too, glitches remain.
