First Fruit Consignment from Tezpur to Hyderabad & New Delhi flagged off by Sonitpur DC

Tezpur Assam: On 21 July 2021, the first consignment of pineapples, Jackfruits, and lemons from the Common Facility Centre at Nabamilan Agro Producer Company ltd were flagged off to Hyderabad and New Delhi by Bhupesh Chandra Das, the Deputy Commissioner.

Nabamilan Agro Producer Company Ltd is a farmer producer company of Balipara in Sonitpur District. The consignment will be part of a market linkage initiative established with AR4 Agro International, Hyderabad under APART, Sonitpur.

The flagship program was held at Balipara in the presence of District Agriculture Officer Prakash Bora, Circle Officer Chariduar Aditi Gogoi, Assistant Director of Agriculture Hareswar Das, and other officials of the Agriculture Department and APART Officials.
During the event, the DC encouraged the farmers to expand horticulture crop cultivation, welcome good agriculture practices to boost production and income. Also, help and support from the district administration and Agriculture Department will fully assist in this connectivity.
Adding to the visit, DC also visited the paddy crop cafeteria and ginger drying unit of the FPC provided by APART Sonitpur.
The consignment consisted of 150 pineapples, 25 jackfruits, and 400 Assam lemons which were sent to Hyderabad by train, and 50 pineapples to New Delhi via flight. The consignment was facilitated by DAMC, DHC, DSSC, DEC of APART, and Agriculture Department officials with the support of Nabamilan FPC.

Further, Bhupesh Chandra Das, the DC appraised the efforts of the state Agriculture Department.
