FM Ajanta Neog directs departments to ensure timely completion of allocated funds

Guwahati: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog reviewed the progress of funds utilization of the state Department of Health, Science and Technology and directed the officials to ensure timely completion of funds allocated in this budget for the departments.

Finance Minister Neog in the presence of Minister Keshav Mahanta at Janata Bhavan reviewed the progress in utilising the budget allocated funds of the Department of Health, Science and Technology.

The minister also advised to submit a supplementary claim clearance proposal to the finance department at the earliest so that it can be approved in the upcoming session of the assembly if additional funds are required, an official statement said.

Finance Minister Neog, also took stock of the progress of the construction of new Cancer Medical Centers, construction of new Cancer Medical Centers, construction of six medical colleges under JICA.

Moreover, Neog also reviewed the progress of the construction of district hospital, establishment of BSc Nursing College at Jorhat Lakhimpur-Tezpur Medical College, Dudhnai and construction of two Ayurvedic Medical Colleges at Palashbari, setting up of 1,000 basic medical centres in the state in the next 5 years.

Finance Minister also advised the departments to submit a supplementary demand manjujuri proposal to the Finance Department at the earliest so that they can be approved in the upcoming session of the Assembly if additional funds are required for the departments.

Principal Secretary, NASA Department Avinash Joshi, Joint Secretary, Finance Department Jayant Narbikar, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Health and Medical Education Siddhartha Singh, Finance Secretary Dilip Bora, Secretary, Department of Science, Technology and Climate Change Naya Maduri, Secretary, Health Department, Dr. M.S. Lakshanipriya, State Director, NHM, Dr. M.S. Lakshanipriya, Director Of Economic Affairs Hemanta Kumar Deori were present in the meeting.
