According to Devajit Lon Saikia, General Secretary of GTC, the event aims to recognize the efforts of police officers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safety and comfort of the general public. "Police officers have taken the lead in assuring the comfort and safety of the general people. But because we take them for granted, their efforts are frequently ignored. We want to recognize these officers who, behind the scenes, are always working to keep us safe," Saikia said at a press conference.

Around 15-20 members of the police force from different levels will be honored at the event, with winners selected from 12-15 categories, including those who effectively handled offenses against women, drugs, and more. Senior police officials and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are expected to attend the event.

Mukul Chandra Gogoi, the working president of GTC, said the event aims to bring police officers who crack cases to the fore, further strengthening police-public relations. "People want to know who were the people who crack the cases, and we want to bring them to the fore. We also hope that this will further strengthen police-public relations," Gogoi added.

The GTC plans to make the thanksgiving event an annual affair, recognizing the invaluable contributions of the Assam Police force in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens.
