Guwahati: HDFC Bank launches a new campaign to highlight "World Environment Day."

HDFC Bank Parivartan has started a high-decibel campaign dubbed #EnginesOff to promote awareness about the significance of decreasing air pollution in honour of World Environment Day.

Motorists idling their automobiles at congested traffic crossings will be persuaded to cut off their engines while waiting for the light to turn green through a brief street play.

This brief piece has been implemented at over 126 busy signals in 40 cities across the country. The three-day campaign began on June 5th and covers major cities such as Guwahati, Mumbai, Gurugram, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Pune, as well as smaller towns such as Ludhiana, Varanasi, Nasik, and Rajkot.

According to the World Health Organization, air pollution kills approximately 7 million people each year. A simple precaution such as turning off the engine may cut an individual's emissions in half.

The street play is part of HDFC Bank's countrywide ESG campaign, which highlights the simple measures we can take to achieve long-term success.

As part of the same campaign, the bank also released four distinct videos that showcase its humanitarian and environmental achievements through its flagship programme Parivartan.

"HDFC Bank has always been devoted to responsible leadership. "As India's largest bank, we believe that we must leverage our brand to make a good social effect and make a difference in the lives of communities," stated Mr. Ravi Santhanam, CMO of HDFC Bank. "With this campaign, we hope to increase awareness about the basic efforts we can take to avoid a disaster in the future." "We must band together and act now to achieve a brighter tomorrow," he concluded.
