An India Bangladesh Buyer Sellers Meet was organized in Guwahati on October 19-20 to provide a platform for one-to-one interaction between the North East and other Indian states and Bangladesh The Meet has been organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Union Ministry of Commerce. The Meet is an initiative to promote trade and transactions between North East India and neighboring Bangladesh. Discussions are being held to understand the needs and device means for the development of various industries in both countries for cost-effective promotion of industry, products, and services in NE and Bangladesh, and for achieving a better understanding of the NE regional market and its exchanges with Bangladesh. Higher officials of both countries present in the meeting discussed developmental activities and steps to strengthen the business ties of the NE with Bangladesh in tourism, manufacturing, and cost-effective labour, and is export and import of consumer goods.
