Guwahati: India's unemployment rate witnessed a rise of 8 percent in November, highest in three months.
According to data by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), the rate of unemployment rose 7.77 percent in the month of November.
The urban unemployment rate rose to 8.96 percent in November from 7.21 percent in the previous month, while the rural unemployment rate slipped to 7.55 percent from 8.04 percent, the data showed.
The data from the Mumbai-based CMIE is closely watched by economists and policymakers as the government does not release its own monthly figures.
