Kaziranga records revenue of 6 crores for FY21-22

Guwahati: Kaziranga attracts around 2.75 lakh tourists in 2021-2022, earning an all-time income collection of Rs. 6 Cr.

Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNP&TR) got a little more than 2.75 lakh visitors, producing revenue of Rs.6 crore for 2021-2022, an all-time high.

According to Jatin Sharma, Director of KNP &TR, 2,75,835 visitors visited the UNESCO World Heritage Park notable for one-horned rhinos from October 2021 to May 2022, marking an all-time income collection of Rs.6,39,23,389. The park was visited by 2,74,116 local and 1,719 foreign tourists.

In 2020-2021, the park got 1,67,644 visitors, with a total income of Rs.3,60,00,611. In the fiscal year 2019-2020, the park received 1,42,859 visitors, making a revenue of Rs.4,20,63,541. The COVID-19 epidemic impacted tourist traffic to the park during the years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. The inflow of tourists was hampered in 2018-2019 owing to COVID.
The second biggest income collection came in the fiscal year 2017-18, totaling little more than Rs.5.60 crore. A record 1.88 lakh tourists visited that year.
