Assam CM also distributed 100 appointment letters as a part of the recent recruiment drive of Assam Cooperative APEX BANK.

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, attended the ceremony as the chief guest for the event. CM recounts the moment when Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi, the former CM of Assam, oversaw the launch of the Assam Cooperative APEX Bank.

CM stated that APEX Bank has experienced substantial growth over the past several years as a result of its ongoing efforts. "I applaud the long-term bank clients who have supported this business”.

He continued by mentioning the government's development fortnight initiative. “Currently, the government is engaged in work worth Rs. 15,000 crores, and it will soon begin another cycle of Rs. 15,000 crores development activity”.

Adding further, he outlined the reasons why banks occasionally become less accountable over time. Unions shouldn't be given a lot of importance. Unions are a direct impact to such commercial banks and hinders its way in prorgress.

However, "under my administration, the level of unionism has decreased. And the development of the bank will only benefit from a healthier ecology. By introducing new programmes and initiatives for both consumers and staff, as well as by making it a safer place for women, we are always working to improve the world".

A union can only serve as a monitor, claims Assam CM. It cannot be granted authority. Also, in order to launch new institutional banks, we must adhere to specific standards.

Sarma explains, how mobile banking and RTGS have ingrained themselves into our daily life. Even our taxes may be paid electronically.
To ensure that the internal administration runs smoothly, a competent audit team that follows the criteria is needed. The audit team should also change often, CM continues.

Assam CM claims , the state's GDP is rising by 12% annually. And if this keeps up, we may soon be on the path to development.

In this welcoming address, Chairman of APEX Bank Biswajit Phukan thanked Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his support of the Assam Cooperative APEX Bank.

Phukan describes how progressively they have advanced to this point over the years. Since the beginning on 20th October 1947, APEX BANK has been associated with the sentiments of the people. It has consistently found a way to provide for the needs of the state's residents. The bank has proven to be one of the state's strongest institutions, Phukan adds.

Jayanta Malla Baruah, the minister for public health, engineering, skill development, employment & entrepreneurship, and tourism also made similar remarks.

The functionality of the bank was further discussed by Nandita Garlosa, Minister for Power, Cooperation, Mines, Minerals, Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture Department. She emphasised the need for registered banks, adding that as the state is working to promote growth, it is critical that all cooperative banks register.

Nandita concluded her remarks by stating that banks had to establish branches in the state's rural regions so that residents there will be aware of these programmes and be able to benefit from them. In Sarupathar, two of them have already been launched.

"I urge all banks to work in accordance with the standards to contribute in the development of the people of the state," she continued. And I also wish that projects like this should continue.

Jogen Mohan, an Assam government cabinet minister for Revenue & Disaster Management, Hills Area Development, was also present at the ceremony.
