Longding can become a tourist hub.

District administration authorities of Londing are hopeful that if marketed and developed properly, the district in Arunachal Pradesh can become a tourism hub.

Speaking at an awareness cum training programme on tourism and heritage in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, tourism director Abu said Tayeng Longding and Tirap are an open canvas and should learn from the experience and best practices of the other districts and bring out a model tourism vision.

Tayeng, congratulated the people of the district as their district was being included in the Ministry of Home Affairs’ tourist circuit.

He further requested the district administration to identify the tourism assets like cultural, traditional, natural, etc. and work towards preservation of the same.

Longding Deputy Commissioner Bani Lego said Longding is one of the most beautiful places in eastern Arunachal, which, if marketed and developed properly, can become a tourism hub.

Rural Tourism adviser Raj Basu said that the culture and tradition of Arunachal Pradesh is Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of the state. He emphasised on the involvement of local stakeholders for sustainable tourism.

The District Transport Officer (i/c) Nyatum Doke highlighted the strength, weakness and threats in the district” with reference to the tourism sector. He emphasized on intensive tour of the entire district that will be carried out soon to identify the potential tourists’ spots in the district.

He further urged the residents of Longding to be hospitable and welcoming towards the tourists who visit the district.
