Manipur launches Start-up Summit 1.0

Imphal: The Manipur Technology Innovation Hub, IT Park, hosted the first North East Start-up Showcase Summit 1.0. 

The Department of Information & Technology, Government of Manipur, and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, jointly organised the two-day start-up summit.

Dr. Sapam Ranjan, the minister of health and information, was present during the summit's inauguration.
Altogether 55 start-ups participated in the summit where they showcased their goods, 50 of which are from the North East and 5 from other regions of the country.

Start-up

According to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, the summit is being held to support start-ups and entrepreneurs.

According to N. Biren Singh, this summit will help the start-ups to promote themselves and their products. The homegrown start-ups will be able to share and exchange their creative ideas with others through the summit. He continued, "This will be extremely helpful."

Information and Technology Director N. Deben, who was also present at the event said the start-up scheme has been successful in Manipur. The 2-day summit will encourage the start-ups and also enable the Department of Information and Technology identify areas where it can help them, he said.

CEO KIIT-TBI Dr Mrutyunjay Suar and Head of TBI Dr Namrata Misra were present at the event.
