All banks of India will remain closed for 13 days out of 31 days in the upcoming month of March 2022, according to the list of holidays released by India’s central bank, Reserve Bank India. Among these holidays in March, the major festivals coming are Mahashivratri and Holi.

Holi, one of India’s largest festivals, falls on March 18 in 2022 and Mahashivratri is on March 1, 2022.

As per the bank holiday list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there will be 18 working days and 13 bank holidays in the month of March 2022. However, the holiday list may vary from state to state.

But, you don’t have to worry as you can always do bank transactions through online banking during the holidays as they will continue to work during the holidays.

The RBI divides the holidays into national and regional categories. These are state-wise celebrations, religious holidays and festival celebrations.

All banks across India are closed on holidays listed in the national category while on holidays in the regional section, branches in some states remain closed.

Reserve Bank of India places its Holidays under three categories–Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
