ZURICH: Microsoft announced on Monday that it will invest $400 million in Switzerland, with the funds allocated for enhancing its cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The U.S. technology firm disclosed the investment during a gathering with Swiss Economy Minister Guy Parmelin and vice chair Brad Smith in Bern. The expansion will cater to both current and prospective customers and ensure data stays within Swiss territory – a crucial necessity for industries such as healthcare, finance, and government. Microsoft will further enhance its collaboration with small and medium enterprises and intensify training initiatives to assist individuals in utilising AI and digital technologies. "According to Smith, Switzerland has developed one of the top innovation ecosystems globally, combining exceptional research with practical applications."
