MoU signed between Indian Navy & Bharat Electronics Ltd in aid of emerging technologies

New Delhi: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday, between the Indian Navy and DPSU Bharat Electronics Limited concerning the development of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Computing, and Robots.
A technology incubation forum will be set up to work jointly while developing the latest technologies, as mentioned in the MoU.


The Defence Ministry mentions that the incubation forum (ITF) set up reflects the joint vision of the Indian Navy and Bharat Electronics Limited which will help jointly in developing the latest innovations and creative thinking as per the latest technologies.
The ministry said the TIF will spearhead the mission-mode development of deployable products under the government’s “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) initiative with the involvement of industry, academia, and start-ups. TIF technology is a development in weapons and sensors.


According to military officials, each side currently has around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control in the sensitive sector, information technology, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, autonomous platforms/robotics, image processing, and cognitive radio.


There was no visible forward movement in disengagement of troops in the remaining friction points as the Chinese side did not show flexibility in their approach at the 11th round of military talks.
The Army officials emphasized more on the hard training of their staffs such as paramedical in the aid of covid 19, security thwarts, cyber threats, information technology, countermeasures.
