Nature’s Weave- in-house apparel and utility brand of NEHHDC to hit market soon

`Nature’s Weave’ a homegrown apparel and home utility brand developed by the North East Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation will be launched in the Northeast International Fashion Week by designer Prasantt Ghosh. The event is slated to take place on 12 and 13 November 2022.

Ghosh is a renowned Indian fashion designer who predominantly works in the Assamese fashion industry and the products will be showcased in the fashion week.

The products are designed by two in-house designers of NEHHDC, Kakoli Deori who is a textile designer and an alumni of NID Ahmedabad and Neetu Gogoi who is a product designer and an alumni of NIFT Bangalore.

Khitish Hazarika who is the quality control officer is handling the technical part and inspects the quality of the products.

Nature's Weave

All their products are handloom and handicrafts.

Presently, to start with they are working on handloom products with Eri, Cotton, Mulberry and for the handicraft they are starting with a line of lighting solutions made of bamboo. For the launch they are showcasing only sarees and home furnishing products, amongst the home furnishing products they are presently making only lighting products made of bamboo like lamp shades, hanging lamps and more.

Brigadier Rajiv Kumar Singh (Retd) who is presently the Managing Director at NEHHDC has acknowledged the initiative and the idea of an exclusive in-house brand where the local artisans would get more opportunity and generate a livelihood.

“With ‘Nature’s Weave’ we are able to provide them an in-house training and working platform with good market linkage while we connect them to the latest trends”, said Kakoli Deori, in-house designer at NEHHDC to Business-Northeast.
