Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has completed the fiscal year with a large increase in freight loading of 10.24 million tonnes (MT). In April 2024, the zone maintained its progress, loading 0.844 MT of freight, officials said.
Notable is the significant increase in the loading of important commodities compared to the same period last year. Food grain loading increased by 19.9 percent, while fertiliser loading increased by 300 percent. Furthermore, POL loading increased by 42.9 percent, with container loading following suit at 33.3 percent
Building on the previous fiscal year, NF Railway saw a 19.7 percent increase in food grain loading and an 8 percent increase in container loading, showing ongoing commitment to service improvement.
"The continued increase in freight loading indicates not only the railway's efficiency but also the region's thriving economic activities", the NF Railway noted in a release.
