Pallobi Sarma’s venture is helping senior citizens, car owners

Guwahati: When Pallobi Sarma saw the problems of her ageing parents, she decided to find a solution that would not only help her family but other senior citizens. Sharma (42), an MBA from Tezpur University, started DriveMiCar in 2015 to provide driver services to those who own vehicles but have to depend on someone with a driving licence.

The Guwahati-based company has 25 employees and caters to 25 clients a day. Talking to Business-Northeast, Sarma said the company now has regular customers.

DriveMiCar provides an alternative to the hassles of booking and waiting for cabs.

The venture was started with small-scale self-financing. Now, the company is earning an annual volume of Rs 40 lakh approximately with a net profit of 12%.

Sarma is planning to expand services to other towns of Assam as well. Also, there is a plan to make the service easily available for senior citizens.

Sarma gives special credit to her educational background and work experience for the success of the project. She informed that it taught her a lot and has been a great help in starting and sustaining her business.
