Guwahati: The Purba Bharti Gas Private Limited (PBGPL) which earlier provided applications for domestic gas piped lines on its website has unveiled lucrative offers for would-be customers.

"From February 1 to March 31, we have decided to offer free registration to interested citizens", a PBGPL official informed Business North East. He added that the offer is under the special scheme of the venture. "The piped gas connection has a regular scheme and says that one can opt for three different types of payment", the official disclosed.

The first option is a one-time upfront payment of Rs 7000 at the time of connection. This amount is refundable with an interest-free security deposit of Rs 6000 and a refundable interest-free consumption security of Rs 1000.

The second scheme is an installment payment of Rs 1275 at the connection time. In this scheme, there is a refundable interest-free consumption security of Rs1000 at the time of connection. A processing charge of Rs 275 as a non-refundable amount will be collected.

The third scheme requires applicants to pay Rs 2 each day. Here, the refundable interest-free consumption security is Rs1000 and will be collected at the time of connection. There is a non-refundable Rs 2 per day charge plus applicable taxes.

During the time of Gas supply, the customer can opt for any of the above schemes and needs to pay the security deposit as per the scheme. The domestic piped gas connection is now available for residents of Guwahati and Silchar.
