MSMEs

The conference was hosted by the Ministry of MSME to raise awareness of the ministry's different programmes.

Speaking at the conference, Narayan Rane stressed the important role played by MSMEs in the North East and their significance in helping to make India "Self Reliant." According to him, Tripura is a state that produces a lot of agricultural goods and has a lot of potential for MSMEs working in the food processing sector. He recommended the Tripura government to expand MSMEs' access to tourist prospects while bolstering the state's existing businesses.

MoS Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma urged the business owners to utilise the programmes to their fullest potential. According to him, the Tripura State Government has worked sincerely and diligently under the direction of the Chief Minister to make this event a huge success. He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of the two ministries will improve the environment for the growth of the MSME sector in the North Eastern Region (NER).

The conference highlighted the launch of numerous projects from the Ministry of MSME, the Indian Government, and the Tripura State Government. The RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) portal, the linking of the NER portal under Udyam Shakti, the opening of the Gomati City Gas Project, the opening of the West Tripura Bamboo Mat Cluster under the SFURTI programme, and the opening of the new KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission) & TKVIB building were among the new initiatives that dignitaries unveiled during the programme (Tripura Khadi & Village Industries Board).

The conference gave aspiring and established NER entrepreneurs a much-needed venue to meet with government agencies from the Central and State governments, CPSEs, and Industry Associations through its numerous events, like as VDP's, CEO Conference, etc.

The MSME sector is important for increasing livelihoods and for generating new jobs. It currently has about 6 billion units and more than 11 billion workers, and it makes up around 30% of GDP, considerably boosting economic growth.

Given the influence MSMEs have on our economy, it is crucial to make concerted efforts to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs and to establish an environment that would allow them to contribute significantly to the growth of the Indian economy and reach the 5 trillion USD mark.

The development of the MSME sector is crucial for the country's economic health. M/o MSME works tirelessly to support MSMEs in their quest for sustainable growth and integration into the global value chain.
