Guwahati: Seven organizations that were incubated at the 'Assam Start-Up' in Guwahati were awarded the POC (Proof to Concept) grant of Rs 5 lakh each by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa on Friday.

The start-ups selected for the grant included Fuloni LLP, Spicenatura Foodtech LLP, Qoptars Private Limited, Northeast Hygiene Solutions, Bikozee Ecotech Private Limited, PDOC Info Services OPC Private Limited and Selabx Systems Private Limited.

The grants were awarded at Srimanta Shankardeva International Auditorium, Panjabari, Guwahati. Apart from the Chief Minister, Bimal Bora, the Minister of Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs, was also present.

"This recognition highlights their innovative ideas and potential to make an impact", said an Assam Start-Up official.

In January, the country's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognised the Assam government’s industries department as a 'leader' in developing a strong startup ecosystem in the State.

"This award is a testament to our ongoing efforts of building an Atmanirbhar Assam by unlocking various challenges for our valued entrepreneurs", the Chief Minister posted on X (formerly Twitter) in the wake of the development.
