New Delhi: S M Vaidya, Chairman IndianOil ranked as top Indian CEO

The CEOWorld magazine has released its annual list of the World's Most Influential CEOs for 2023, in which Mr. S M Vaidya, Chairman of IndianOil, has been ranked as the top Indian CEO.

Mr. Vaidya has secured the 81st rank globally out of over 1,200 CEOs across 96 countries. In his statement, Mr. Vaidya expressed his gratitude for the recognition and credited the collective efforts of the IndianOil team for the company's progress towards an energy-secured and greener future.

With over 36 years of experience in the downstream petroleum industry and refinery-petrochemical integration, Mr. Vaidya has actively contributed to global energy security and sustainability. Under his leadership, IndianOil has embraced a green agenda and aims to achieve Net Zero Operational emissions by 2046. The company has intensified research and development and focused on sustainable practices to emerge as a game-changer in India's journey towards a cleaner future.

Mr. Vaidya has also championed IndianOil's conservation efforts, such as supporting the Cheetah reintroduction program in India and protecting Indian single-horned rhinos.
