Tripura ranked third in nation for internet strength: Manik Saha

Guwahati: Tripura is currently ranked third in the nation for internet strength, according to Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who was speaking at the inauguration of the Shehri Samriddhi Utsav, hosted by the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission (TULM). He discussed ways to increase connectivity on the roads, trains, and online.

The event took place on November 9 at Kshudhiram Basu English Medium School in Agartala.

He claimed that the Tripura Government is using digital means to work for the welfare of every man in the community.

He continued by saying that the state government has been upholding openness in all construction projects under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It works to meet the people's fundamental requirements while promoting general growth.

A sizable number of women affiliated with Self Help Groups in 20 urban regions took part in the Shehri Samriddhi Utsav, which will go through December 13 of this year. The Self-Help Groups members' handcrafted goods are on display during the event.

Among the dignitaries present at the inaugural ceremony were the Minister of Urban Development, Manoj Kati Deb, Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Secretary of the Urban Development Department Abhishek Singh, and Chief Executive Officer of TULM Prasada Rao.

According to the chief minister, the state government is emphasising the slogan "Vocal for Local," in its development initiatives.

Dr. Saha said that during the current administration's mandate, the number of SHG members grew nine times (3.45 lakh), and they were given loans totaling Rs. 347.61 crores.

He asserted that the SHG movement has been crucial in transforming the socioeconomic status of women throughout the state.

The occasion saw a significant number of women SHG members participate, the chief minister stated on social media. He perceived it as an illustration of their tenacity and commitment to gaining independence.

He added that the state government is working to create Atmanirbhar Tripura by empowering women via Self Help Groups in both urban and rural regions.
