Van Dhan Vikash Kendras to set up mini-trifood unit in Assam

Dhemaji: Van Dhan Vikash Kendras (VDVKs) of Dhemaji District received a cheque amount of Rs. 7,27,226/- at Rongali Tingkhang 2023.

The fund release program was organized by Bimal Bora, the Minister of Industries & Commerce, Government of Assam, in collaboration with Assam Industrial Development Corporation Limited, for promoting industrial development in the region.deve

The funds received by the VDVKs are intended to be used for setting up a Mini-Trifood Unit under the Prime Minister's Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. This initiative aims to support and empower small food processing businesses, promoting their growth and formalization.

The event saw the presence of Chowna Mein, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, and Rameswar Teli, the Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Labour & Employment, GOI.

It can be noted that the implementation of the PM Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) scheme is entrusted to the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE). The PMVDY scheme aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to tribal communities by leveraging the traditional knowledge and skills of forest-based economic activities.
