Guwahati: HDFC Bank's mobile app PayZapp has been awarded the Celent Model Bank Award for Payment Innovation. The award ceremony recognized technology usage in banking, with PayZapp being one of 19 winners chosen from over 140 nominations across 36 countries. 

Developed jointly by Zeta and HDFC Bank, PayZapp utilizes Zeta's next-gen processing platform, Zeta Tachyon, and Zeta Studios' engineering offering. Since its launch in March 2023, PayZapp has attracted over 6 million customers and on both iOS and Android platforms, HDFC said in a statement.

HDFC Bank's Group Head, Chief Marketing Officer & Head of Direct to Consumer Business, Ravi Santhanam, highlighted the award "as validation of their commitment to delivering digital banking solutions." Ramki Gaddipati, CTO and co-founder of Zeta expressed pride in their role in PayZapp's success, emphasizing the app's "flexibility in payment methods for HDFC Bank's customers."
