Guwahati: Guwahati International Airport Limited (GIAL), which operates the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport, has initiated a series of quality initiatives from June 10 onwards, aiming at Adani Business Excellence certification.

The quality initiatives include 5S, Kaizen, ISO, and Six-sigma certifications services.

Senior VP Pankaj Singh from Ahmedabad who visited Guwahati to launch the initiatives appealed to the airport staff to take up initiatives and prompt actions in consideration of environmental, social, and governance concerns.

GIAL is actively replacing fuel-operated vehicles with electric vehicles; substantial generation of clean energy is also undertaken.

Utpal Baruah, Chief Airport Officer expressed his happiness for taking up such timely initiatives that will contribute to environmental protection and productivity of the airport immensely.

Recently more than 10000 flower pots and plants have been placed at the airport premises, for decoration and to accentuate the green feel.
